Houston’s running and athletic performance specialist

Dr. Jaime Aparicio in Houston, TX helping runners heal from injuries

Hi, I’m Dr. Jaime Aparicio!

I’m a Houston-based sports physical therapist who specializes in helping runners train and cross finish lines while avoiding injury.

I help endurance runners like you navigate injuries and optimize performance through education, strength training, and one on one personalized care so you can improve your run times, crush new PRs, train without increased risk for injury, and run for years to come.

As a physical therapist and avid runner myself, I understand the unique demands and needs of athletes like you. I have experienced firsthand the physical and mental demands of long runs, the thrill of crossing the finish line, and the frustration of dealing with injuries along the way.

My mission is to help you reach your goals while minimizing your risk of injury and to always give you a way to enjoy your passion for running, because “just stopping” is never the answer for us. After all, we do not just run, we are runners.

Let’s Work Together

  • Physical Therapy

Yes, it’s physical therapy, but done differently and tailored to you the runner. Physical therapy services are always 1:1 and include a comprehensive review of running history and training, full orthopedic assessment, running-specific testing, and a treatment plan to help you reach your running goals.

  • Strength & Conditioning

In order to run well you must run strong. Strength and conditioning is the best way to unlock your true running potential and achieve those running goals you’ve set your sights on. Strength and conditioning services include customized strength programs based on performance testing and tailored to your current racing schedule and prior history of injuries.

  • Dry Needling

Dry needling is a specific and targeted treatment used for injury recovery and improved performance. Dry needling is a safe and effective method using a small filament needle that can address muscular pain, nerve pain, and a number of mobility issues. Addressing these issues can help facilitate improvements in movement and faster return to training and other activities.

  • Recovery Care

Work hard. Recover harder. Your running performance is only as good as your recovery. Recovery care can serve as a nice little tune up to help with those darn little niggles that tend to pop up, or help prevent them from ever showing up in the first place. Recovery services can include spinal manipulation, instrumented soft tissue techniques (IASTM), and manual therapy techniques.
